Life Engine provides premium, custom book production services for founders and operators. Due to the bespoke nature of our work, refund terms are specific to each engagement and are outlined in your individual service agreement.
Custom Service Agreements
Each Life Engine engagement is governed by a separate service agreement that details:
- Project scope and deliverables
- Payment schedule and milestones
- Specific refund and cancellation terms
- Intellectual property rights
Your service agreement is the definitive document for all refund-related matters pertaining to your engagement.
General Principles
While specific terms vary by engagement, our general approach to refunds includes:
- Pre-Production: Deposits or payments made before production begins may be eligible for partial refund, minus administrative costs, if cancellation occurs before work commences.
- Early Production (Before Chapter 1 Sign-Off): Clients may withdraw from the engagement at any point before signing off on Chapter 1. This includes the discovery phase, executive summary, outline, and any preliminary deliverables. Refunds during this period are prorated based on work completed.
- Post Chapter 1 Sign-Off: Once you have reviewed and signed off on Chapter 1, you are committed to the full engagement. No refunds are available after Chapter 1 approval, as this milestone confirms alignment on voice, structure, and direction for the complete manuscript.
- Completed Deliverables: Payments for completed and delivered work are non-refundable.
Chapter 1 Sign-Off = Commitment Point. We encourage thorough review of all early deliverables. Chapter 1 represents your opportunity to evaluate quality, voice, and fit before committing to the full production. Take your time with this decision.

Cancellation Process
If you need to cancel or modify your engagement:
- Contact us in writing at hello@lifeengine.com
- Reference your service agreement and project details
- Our team will review your agreement and respond within 5 business days
- Any applicable refunds will be processed according to the terms of your agreement
